Terms of Use

1. The service

Hey Trainer is a voice-first workout logging app. You speak your sets — exercise, reps, weight — and the App transcribes them, stores them in a local workout log on your device, and provides AI-generated feedback on the work you performed. Some features are free; others require a Hey Trainer Pro subscription (Section 4).

We may add, change, or remove features over time. Where a change materially reduces what a paid subscription provides, your remedy is to cancel the subscription (Section 4.3).

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the EU) to use Hey Trainer, and old enough to form a binding contract where you live — or have a parent or guardian's permission. By using the App you confirm you meet these requirements. Exercise carries inherent risk; see Section 5 before starting any training program.

3. Accounts and your data

Hey Trainer can be used without an account; your workout history, voice profile, and settings are stored locally on your device. You may optionally sign in with Google, Apple, or email to enable cloud backup and sync across your devices, which is included with Hey Trainer Pro. How each is handled is described in our Privacy Policy.

If you use the App without cloud backup, you are responsible for your data: deleting the App, clearing its data, or losing your device will erase your workout history, and we cannot recover it for you.

4. Subscriptions & billing

4.1 Hey Trainer Pro

Hey Trainer Pro is an auto-renewing subscription purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play. The price and billing period are shown in the App before you buy. Payment is charged to your Apple or Google account. Subscription state is managed by RevenueCat, linked to your Hey Trainer user identifier.

4.2 Free tier

Without a subscription you get a limited number of free voice logs so you can try the App. Your workout history remains viewable and editable on your device without a subscription. Cloud backup, sync, AI routine generation, and post-workout AI feedback require Hey Trainer Pro.

4.3 Renewal, cancellation, and refunds

Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel in your device's subscription settings (Apple ID → Subscriptions, or Google Play → Payments & subscriptions). Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their respective policies; we cannot issue refunds for purchases made through the app stores.

4.4 Usage safeguards

Hey Trainer Pro has no monthly or per-session limit on voice logging. To protect service availability, a ceiling of 300 voice requests per device applies within any rolling 24-hour period — for scale, the heaviest training session we have ever recorded is about 50. The ceiling exists to stop automation, scripting, and resale, not to restrict how you train. Reaching it pauses voice logging until the window rolls on; manual entry still works, and workouts you have already logged are never deleted or rejected.

5. AI-generated coaching — not professional advice

The “Trainer” in Hey Trainer is an AI agent persona, not a human coach. Its verdicts, scores, and suggestions are generated by artificial intelligence, grounded in publicly available strength-training methodology published by organizations such as the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and the American Council on Exercise (ACE).

• No affiliation. Hey Trainer and i18n LLC are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or certified by NASM, ACE, or any other certifying organization. NASM and ACE are trademarks of their respective owners, used here only to identify the published methodology the AI's feedback draws on.
• Not professional health advice. The App's output is informational only. It is not medical advice, physical therapy, nutrition advice, or the services of a certified personal trainer, and using the App does not create a client–trainer or provider–patient relationship.
• AI can be wrong. Transcriptions and coaching feedback are AI-generated and may contain errors. Review what was logged and use your own judgment about weights, form, and effort.

Consult a physician before beginning any exercise program, and stop immediately if you experience pain, dizziness, or discomfort. You assume all risk associated with your training.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the App in violation of any law or regulation.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the App's source code, models, or prompts, except where the law permits it despite this restriction.
• Access the App's voice-processing service by automated means, scripts, or anything other than the App itself.
• Circumvent, or attempt to circumvent, subscription entitlements or usage safeguards.
• Resell, rent, or provide the App or its AI features as a service to third parties.

7. Intellectual property

The App, including its design, code, branding, and content, is owned by i18n LLC and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on devices you own or control, for personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms.

Your workout data is yours. We claim no ownership of the workouts you log.

8. Third-party services

The App relies on third-party services to work: Google Gemini transcribes and parses your voice commands, RevenueCat manages subscription state, and Apple or Google processes payments. Your use of those services through the App is also subject to their own terms and privacy policies, described in our Privacy Policy. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.

9. Apple & Google app store terms

These Terms are between you and i18n LLC only — not with Apple Inc. or Google LLC. Apple and Google are not responsible for the App or its content, and have no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it.

If you obtained the App from the Apple App Store: Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you; in the event the App fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price (Apple has no other warranty obligation); and your use must comply with the App Store Terms of Service, including the Usage Rules.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE, THAT TRANSCRIPTIONS OR AI FEEDBACK WILL BE ACCURATE, OR THAT USE OF THE APP WILL PRODUCE ANY PARTICULAR FITNESS RESULT. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, i18n LLC WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES — INCLUDING PERSONAL INJURY ARISING FROM YOUR TRAINING DECISIONS, OR LOSS OF DATA STORED ON YOUR DEVICE — ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE APP IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR US $50. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THESE LIMITS, SO THEY MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU; NOTHING IN THESE TERMS EXCLUDES LIABILITY THAT CANNOT LAWFULLY BE EXCLUDED.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless i18n LLC from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the App.

13. Termination

You may stop using Hey Trainer at any time by deleting the App (cancel any active subscription separately — see Section 4.3). We may suspend or terminate your access to the App's connected features if you materially violate these Terms. Sections 5, 7, and 10–15 survive termination.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the App evolves. Updates are posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date, and material changes will be flagged in the App where practical. Continued use of the App after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Virginia. If you are a consumer in a jurisdiction whose law grants you mandatory protections or a different forum, nothing in this section takes those away.
